How to search in plain English

Real-world example
Instead of setting the years, window and thresholds by hand, you type “10-day Apple patterns that gained more than 3% over the last 6 years”. The screener fills in AAPL, a 10-day window, 6 years and a 3% minimum return, then shows you the interpretation so you can confirm it understood.
Step-by-step
- 1Open the Pattern Screener — the “Ask in plain English” box sits above the filters (Premium accounts).
- 2Describe what you want: stock, holding period, how far back, and any return or win-rate threshold.
- 3Click Search. The AI shows how it interpreted your request and applies the filters.
- 4Review the interpretation — if it’s not quite right, rephrase and try again.
What to expect & how to read it
The filter fields fill themselves in and the results table shows patterns matching your request, along with a one-line summary of how your words were interpreted.
Common mistakes to avoid
- ✕ Being too vague (“good stocks to buy”) — the AI needs at least a stock or a concrete idea of the pattern you want.
- ✕ Treating the results as recommendations — it’s a faster way to set filters, not investment advice.
Tips for beginners
- ✓ Mention numbers explicitly (“over 3%”, “last 6 years”, “10-day”) for the most precise interpretation.
- ✓ You can still fine-tune the filters by hand afterwards — plain-English search just gets you 90% of the way instantly.
