How to scan an entire index

The Index Scanner checks every stock in a major index — Dow Jones 30, S&P 100 or Nasdaq 100 — in one click and lists the strongest seasonal patterns it finds. It’s the fastest way to discover opportunities when you don’t already have a ticker in mind.

  1. 1Pick an index — Dow 30 is free; the bigger scans are Pro.
  2. 2Locked tabs unlock with a Pro or Premium plan.
  3. 3Every stock in the index, ranked by pattern strength.
  4. 4The seasonal window dates — click a row for full detail.

Real-world example

It’s early July and you want to know which blue-chip stock has the most reliable seasonal window coming up. Open the Index Scanner, pick Dow Jones 30, and within moments you see all 30 stocks’ qualifying patterns ranked by strength — maybe HD’s late-July window with an 85% win rate tops the list.

Step-by-step

  1. 1Open Index Scanner from the navigation menu.
  2. 2Pick an index tab: Dow Jones 30 (free), S&P 100 or Nasdaq 100 (Pro).
  3. 3Adjust the filters if you like — years of history, minimum average return, minimum win rate.
  4. 4Wait a few seconds while every stock in the index is analysed (repeat scans the same day are instant).
  5. 5Click any row to expand the full pattern detail — chart, stats and year-by-year record — or star it to save it.

What to expect & how to read it

A single table of the strongest seasonal patterns across the whole index, sorted with the biggest movers first. Each row shows the stock, its window dates, average return, win rate and rating — exactly like the Pattern Screener, but across dozens of stocks at once.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Scanning with very loose filters (e.g. 0% minimum return) — you’ll get hundreds of weak patterns; the defaults are a good starting point.
  • Forgetting the first scan of the day takes a little longer — it’s analysing up to 100 stocks; after that it’s cached and instant.

Tips for beginners

  • The Dow 30 scan is free — try it to get a feel for the tool before upgrading for the bigger indexes.
  • Combine it with the Saved Patterns page: star the best finds from a scan and track them all in one place.
