GOOGL Seasonality: Alphabet Stock's Best and Worst Months

November 3, 2026

GOOGL seasonality has an unusually sharp shape: a soft June followed by a very strong July. These figures use split-adjusted prices from 2011 to 2025. Alphabet’s other share class, GOOG, moves almost identically.

July: Alphabet's standout month

July has averaged +8.09% with a median of +8.88%, so this isn’t a few outliers: GOOGL rose in 13 of 15 Julys. Alphabet has typically reported second-quarter earnings in the second half of July, which may be part of the reason. October (+4.58%) and May (+3.52%, median +5.78%) are next.

June looks weak, but the window starts mid-month

June is one of GOOGL’s weakest months, rising in only 6 of 15 years. Yet the window from June 17 to July 17 rose in 15 of 15, averaging +6.58%. The strength begins in the back half of June, which a monthly table can’t show. That’s why exact date windows are more useful than calendar months.

GOOGL’s weak windows are less pronounced. The clearest is March 26 to April 5, which fell in 10 of 15 years and averaged −1.50%. Unlike many stocks, GOOGL’s September is nearly flat, at −0.31%, with a positive median of +1.04%.

Reality check: the June 17 window’s perfect 15-year record ended in 2026, when it fell 4.7%. These windows are the best of many tested, and earnings dates shift from year to year, so treat them as historical base rates and not as forecasts.
